Complete Walkthrough: Using Earnstack.ng
1. Business Registration & Setup
Nigerian businesses start by visiting Earnstack.ng and clicking "Get Started Free." The registration process takes less than 5 minutes. You'll provide:
- Business Details: Legal business name, RC number (if registered), business type (retail, restaurant, service, etc.), and physical address
- Contact Information: Business phone number, email address, and primary contact person details
- Bank Information: For cashback fund management (you control the funds, we manage the tracking)
Once registered, you'll access your business dashboard immediately. The interface is designed for Nigerian business owners with minimal tech experience—clean, intuitive, and available in English.
2. Staff Management & Training
From your dashboard, navigate to "Team Management" to add your staff members. You can create three types of accounts:
- Admin: Full access to all features—setting cashback rates, viewing financial reports, managing staff, exporting data
- Staff: Limited to customer onboarding and transaction recording—perfect for sales associates and cashiers
Each staff member receives login credentials via SMS (primary in Nigeria) or email. They can access the system through:
- Web Dashboard: Accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet
3. Customer Onboarding Process
The beauty of Earnstack is its simplicity for both businesses and customers. To add a customer:
- Staff opens the app or web interface and clicks "Add Customer"
- Enters the customer's name (required)
- Enters the customer's phone number (required—Nigeria's primary contact method)
- Optionally adds an email address (for customers who prefer email receipts)
- Clicks "Save"—the customer is instantly added to the loyalty program
The system sends an automatic welcome SMS to the customer: "Welcome to [Business Name]'s loyalty program! You'll earn cashback on every purchase. Your current balance: ₦0."
4. Cashback Configuration & Management
This is where you set your loyalty strategy. In your dashboard, go to "Cashback Settings":
- Default Cashback Rate: Set your base percentage (e.g., 5%, 10%, 15%)
The system automatically calculates cashback based on your rules. When a customer makes a ₦10,000 purchase with a 10% cashback rate, they earn ₦1,000 cashback. No manual calculations needed.
5. Transaction Processing in Real Life
Here's how a typical transaction flows:
- Step 1: Customer makes a purchase of ₦15,000
- Step 2: Staff asks for customer's phone number (or looks up existing customer)
- Step 3: Staff enters ₦15,000 in the app and selects the customer
- Step 4: System instantly calculates cashback (e.g., ₦1,500 at 10% rate)
- Step 5: Customer receives SMS: "Thanks for shopping at [Business Name]! Purchase: ₦15,000. Cashback earned: ₦1,500. Total balance: ₦[X]. Redeem on your next visit!"
- Step 6: Customer's balance updates in real-time
6. Redemption & Customer Experience
When customers return to redeem their cashback:
- Customer informs staff they want to use their cashback
- Staff looks up customer by phone number
- System shows available balance
- Staff selects amount to redeem (full or partial)
- Amount is deducted from purchase total
- Customer receives SMS confirmation of redemption
The entire process takes less than 30 seconds—faster than traditional loyalty cards or point systems.
